An Accounting Reconciliation Agent — Plus the Skill It Can Repeat Every Month

You'll build the agent, then give it one job it can do again and again. At the end of the session you re-run it on a fresh month to prove it isn't a one-off demo.

The Agent

Set up on your own computer, in Claude Code. It's yours after the session, and it doesn't disappear when the workshop ends.

The Reconciliation Skill

Give it a bank statement and a GL cash ledger. It matches transactions, flags the reconciling items, and produces the finished reconciliation.

This is a build-along, not a presentation. We move together, step by step, and you finish with something running on your machine. Twenty seats means there's time to unstick anyone who falls behind.

Numbers you can defend

The agent doesn't produce a plausible-sounding total. It writes code, runs it, and shows its work — so you can open the file, check the logic, and trace any figure to the transaction behind it. That's the difference between a demo and something you'd use at close.

A task that actually costs you hours

Most AI demos write variance commentary. We picked reconciliation on purpose: it's the monthly grind nobody enjoys, which is exactly why automating it gives you your evening back.

I'm not a technologist who wandered into finance. I'm a finance educator showing you exactly what I'm building, in the language we both already speak.

I'm not technical. Can I really do this?

Yes. You never write code. You describe what you want in plain English and the agent writes and runs the code for you. The one technical part — installing the tools — is done as guided pre-work with a written checklist, and we confirm it works before the session starts.

Will it work on my computer?

Use a personal computer, not a work laptop. Most corporate machines block the installs we need. Mac or Windows both work. The setup guide covers each step, and the pre-session check catches problems while there's still time to fix them.

Does anything cost extra?

The workshop itself is free for this cohort. You'll need a Claude subscription (paid, from Anthropic) and a code editor, which is free. Those are yours to keep using afterward. That's what makes the agent work beyond this workshop.

Is my company data safe?

We build entirely with realistic synthetic file. A made-up bank statement and general ledger (GL) and never real company numbers. Don't bring employer data to the session. Once you've built the skill, applying it at work is your call, under your organization's own policies.

How is this different from the AI content I've already watched?

You end the session with a working agent on your machine and a reconciliation skill you've already run twice. It's a build-along, capped at 10 people so nobody gets left behind, not a Youtube video that you take notes on.

What if I can't make the live time?

The value here is building live with help on hand, so we'd rather you join a later cohort than watch a recording. If the date doesn't work, register your interest and we'll tell you when the next one opens.
